OMI Recognized Among the Top 10 Battery Technology Leaders to Watch in 2026

Being named among the top 10 battery technology leaders to watch in 2026 mattered to us, not for the title, but for what it recognized. For years, the industry chased more capacity. But capacity was never the bottleneck. Compromise was.

Every chemistry forced a choice. Safety and low cost? Accept slow charging. Energy density and speed? Accept supply chain risk. Pick one. Give up the other.

We refused to accept that. So we built our patent-pending LnFP cathode platform.

What LnFP actually does

Built on lithium iron phosphate, LnFP holds LFP-level safety, then moves the numbers LFP couldn't:

  • 15% higher energy density — more usable energy in the same footprint.
  • Ultra-fast charging up to 20C — stable across cells, not a one-time lab figure.
  • Long cycle life — performance that holds over time.
  • Lower reliance on nickel and cobalt — less exposure to volatile materials.

In plain terms: it charges fast, and stays stable while doing it. When we saw stable behavior at 20C , consistently, across cells, the path forward became clear. This wasn't a lab anomaly. This was real.

As our CEO, Nicholas W., put it: "OMI is advancing battery chemistry that removes traditional compromises between safety, cost, and performance."

It drops into your existing line

A better chemistry that requires a new factory isn't a better chemistry. It's a capital expense with a chemistry attached. We engineered LnFP to drop into existing cell manufacturing systems — current equipment, no major redesign. That means a lower adoption barrier, faster commercialization, and reduced risk. Most breakthroughs die here, where the science works but the factory economics don't. We treated manufacturability as a design constraint from the start.

Why we build it ourselves

Performance doesn't matter if you can't supply it reliably. So we built around vertical integration, domestic manufacturing, and supply chain localization. Lead times you can plan around. A supply you can defend. That predictability is the asset across EVs, grid storage, AI infrastructure, and defense.

The takeaway

We didn't iterate our way to a slightly better battery. We questioned the assumption that safety, cost, and performance must be traded against each other — and engineered our way past it.

That recognition came from CIO Coverage, which named OMI among the top 10 battery technology leaders to watch in 2026. We have the data to prove it.
